Ducks

Ducks are greedy in a peculiar way,
And they always have something to say.

NOTE: As a young man in law school, I wrote many poems, and continued to do so all through the years from then (1971 - 74) all the way up to around 2001. All of these many poems have been lost, evidently permanently, which is one of my little sorrows. One of them, ‘Ducks’, however, I still remember, and it is quoted above - the shortest poem I ever wrote, and based upon a flock of domestic ducks which lived in a pond on the University of Alabama campus and just below my apartment at the time (1974).
